TMC’s Tuesday Kickoff Breakfast Speaker is Platform Science President & CEO Jack Kennedy. Kennedy knows about the importance of leadership, the difference maker of simplifying complex technologies and processes, and teamwork. Jack flew E-2 Hawkeyes, the U.S. Navy’s primary carrier-based airborne early warning and command and control aircraft, in the first Gulf War, and his post-Navy career has revolved around overcoming big problems with disruptive technologies. He knows the issues faced by the nation’s commercial drivers, and also that it’s an attractive industry for military veterans, and he wants a better experience for them — safer, easier, and more advanced – because the U.S. economy depends on them. Before founding Platform Science, Jack served as President of Qualcomm Enterprise Services, and President of Omnitracs, Inc., the leader in vehicle telematics.
Kennedy is a veteran of News Corp., where he served as EVP of Operations - Digital Media. Prior to this, he served as EVP of Strategy and Corporate Development at Fox Interactive Media. He also held the role of SVP of Corporate Development at Fox Networks Group, where he was part of the joint Fox/NBC Universal team that created the joint venture now known as “Hulu.” His background includes multiple leadership and strategic roles with technology start-ups, including Craig McCaw and Bill Gates-backed satellite broadband start-up Teledesic Lead Wireless, Wireless Facilities International, and Load Media Network, where Jack served as CEO.
Kennedy will share his vision for how change will impact trucks and drivers in the next 10 years, and how the broader ecosystem of distribution centers (shipping/receiving), highways/roadways, back office, regulatory are all connected and what that will inspire. He will discuss with TMC attendees his strategies for dealing with disruption in an Age of Innovation what you need to do to prepare for it for your operation to thrive in the coming decades.
