ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) is a professional society of considerable size and scope. Its 15 standing Study Groups and supporting cast of hundreds of Task Forces and other various committees can appear overwhelming to both the uninitiated and experienced member alike.
During this session, our panel of seasoned Council members and staff will attempt to take the mystery out of TMC and explain various aspects of its history, structure, mission and goals, and the wide array of tools and services it offers to help individuals get the most possible out of their TMC experience. We’ll cover the Council’s various interconnecting segments, its portfolio of recommended practices, products and services, as well as the electronic tools offered such as its public-facing website and online collaborative platform TMC Connect.
We’ll cover the voluntary standards development process and shed light on how recommended practices are developed by consensus of the Council’s broad-based membership. We’ll also cover the various aspects of TMC general meetings and how members can work their way into leadership positions within the Council. If you have questions about how TMC works, this is the session where you’ll be sure to find the answers.
